TO ALL Beginners...including me!!!!<gggg> What you need to daytrade, effectively. You can trade with less...but you are "less effective"! As a minimum.... 1)realtime quotes + market depth for all Canuck exchanges. 2)Java charts for intraday with access (big charts, CSW etc.) to longterm stock performance. 3)Quick access to a discount broker ( I use the phone...Internet doesn't work yet IMHO) 4)A facility that will allow you to use "Stop Loss", "fill or Kill", "buy stops" !!! 5) An excellent understanding of basic stock plotting techniques, Resistance levels, support levels, the use of Moving averages, MACD. A good understanding of bollinger bands, Stochastics, etc etc. 6) A complete control of your "emotions". 7) A known profit or loss level established before entering a trade! If you do not know what any of these are for...ask...there is no "dumb question"....and if there were, I've already asked them all!!
