Story mentions how COVD and Northpoint are putting pressure on BEL. But does mention that BEL has advantage since they struck a marketing alliance with AOL last January, "a deal that allows the Baby Bell to corral customers who already have a demonstrated interest in the Internet".

BEL expects to expand coverage by 80% by the end of next year.

John Mannino signed up for Infospeed "and got his DSL modem free after signing a year long contract".

Overall, very positive ADSL news story and best of all there is a picture of Westell's DSLAM right on the front page!

I heard a radio add yesterday for Bell Atlantic dsl service starting at 49.95 in the Wash DC area. Is Bell Atlantic there only customer ?
