If you read beyond the headlines of that url, Blue, you will see that most homicides are committed with guns in the United States, and that the overall homicide rate has been in decline because most homicides are committed by teenagers and young adults, and that the demographics have changed recently because there are fewer teenagers and young adults in the population due to declining birth rates. These demographic blips are pretty misleading, particularly when crime fighting agencies and politicians trot them out to prove that they are gaining on crime. It is all just statistical. When the number of teenagers and young adults rises in the population, the crime rates will go up again in concert.
