Tom,

There is usually a time lapse between news article preparation and time of publication.

Since the article made no mention of the now announced acceptance of T's offer by MediaOne, one can safely assumes that this factor was not taken into consideration (or unknown) at the time of preparation.

That was my point.

The big show will start this week, and my bet is MSFT, AOL and Paul Allen will most likely team up to give a counter offer for Media one. It is too important a deal for Microsoft AOL not to win. If they lost, MSFT will lose the chance to sell software and to expand its MSN into the market, if AOL lost, then it is the end for AOL. Enemies
now become friends. What an irony. The closed deal will most likely be somewhere around 75 Billion !!!!!
