Mike,

>>But some of these horses have beaten Charismatic and more have beaten horses who have beaten charismatic, so a lot of folks have to be thinking "if the trip was only a little different."<<

Gary Stevens said it was the worst trip he ever had in his career.

Another said it wasn't a horse race it was bumper cars.

There were a lot of excuses. If I was a trainer and my horse was still sound I'd go to the Preakness no matter how poorly he/she ran if I felt he/she was a major contender going into the Derby.

Given Excellent Meeting's good performance I expect Silverbulletday to run in the Preakness.

Wayne

Mike - Thanks, and agree. Going into the race I decided that I wasn't going to take less than 10-1 on anything. And I told a friend that the winner wasn't necessarily going to be the best horse. Charismatic may turn out to be another Gato Del Sol but I did feel he had a passport to win in that crowd. It's a wonder that they all managed to survive the trip still standing. Ralph
