Whoa. That's bad. I'd complain very loudly to GTE. I've had DSL since October from USWest. I've never lost POTS. Lost DSL only once for about 3 hours. I've lost the ISP's DHCP server 3 or 4 times. So... Milage may vary.

OT: Thanks for the advice. I have USWest, and I do have another POTS line. So far, it's been saving me a lot of time :-)
