After all the excitement last week, Jennie and me settled down at the edge of the woods overlooking a pretty little meadow. Seeing that the sky was starting to look like rain, I built a lean to, to keep us dry, just in case. I gathered wood for a fire and we hunkered down for the night. The Grupo steak special was a delight, I might add; and Jennie ate what was left of a few apples I had stuck in my pocket earlier that day. Later that night it began to rain, so I told Jennie, you might as well settle down, cause it looks like it's going to rain for the weekend, besides we've had a long week and we both need a little rest and relaxation, don't cha think....... She whinnied in agreement and settled down as well. The next morning, I took all the blankets and my clothes and washed them. Then I soaped up Jennie and myself. While I was doing this ole Jennie grabbed the bar of soap and tried to eat it. I started laughing and told Jennie she was going to be sorry she did that. Well, she didn't like the taste of the stuff and spit it out. Then she started running around and drinking water out of the puddles, trying to get the taste out of her mouth. She was snorting at the same time and then I started laughing even harder when I saw these big ole bubbles coming out of her nose. She didn't know what was happening, except the more she snorted the more the bubbles came. She got so mad at me laughing that she pushed me into a stream. And that just made me laugh harder. I said Jennie you can be such a funny girl sometimes and it's times like these that just make me love you just that much more. Anyway, we had a great day and enjoyed each other's company and relaxed for the rest of the day. Sunday morning, I got up, put some more wood on the fire and had some coffee. I sat there like I always do most Sunday's and reflected on the week. I decided that we had had a good solid week and felt like we were preparing for what was coming next. Jennie wandered over and I started telling her what I thought about what was happening..... Jennie, we had a good week and I still feel the excitement building within me and I know you feel it too! She whinnied. I think the exercise we got, prepared us for what's coming next. It's a good thing that it rained this weekend because we needed the rest and it has given us time to catch up with ourselves. She snorted, I laughed a little cause she got this screwed up face and I told her the bubbles were all gone and not to worry. Just don't eat the soap anymore I told her. I also said, It's Sunday and it's time to pray to the Lord for all the good things that are happening in our lives. She whinnied again and I knelt down to pray. Then Jennie knelt down next to me, which brings tears to my eyes, because it's just so cute when she does. She gets down on her front knees with her butt sticking up in the air. Then she puts her nose to the ground. Then I said out loud. Lord, thank you for sharing with us all the wonderful things you had made. Thank you for letting us be a part of all the greatness you surround us with. Lord, thank you for bringing Jennie into my life and opening my eyes and my heart to all that is happening in this wonderful world. Lord, protect us from all evil, cause I know it is very much alive in this world. And thank you Lord for just being there, cause I would not have any of this without you. Amen. Jennie whinnied and then got up and started dancing around, just as happy as she could be. So we spent the rest of the day just enjoying all the greatness around us. It seems everything comes alive after it rains, just like it's been born anew. It's Monday morning and I have packed every thing up. Jennie's standing there looking all regal and proud. I went over to her and mounted up and I said to her......Jennie, this is going to be another exciting week and I think we are both as ready as we will ever be. So giddy up little girl, I think we're ready to take on the world. Let's ride...............................HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! PS: Mary, Jennie wants to wear some flowers around her neck and we are both looking forward to our visit.......and we don't mind camping on a beach.......
