The buy-out price of $21 is a lot lower than what I thought. $21 = $1B = 1.5 P/S. If we take that for LSI, LSI will fall right back to low $20s!! My guess is VLSI opened up their books and they were not too hot and AL got beat over the head with cost of sales not under control e.g. still carrying San Jose fab (hurray for LSI's cost control efforts last fall). On top of that, VLSI does not have state of the art fab like Gresham.

Hope the market does not equate VLSI with LSI. LSI have better continue to deliver on the sales and earnings growth, otherwise, watch-out, back to $20 we go.
