There has been a worm virus going around called 'HAPPY99'. It comes in through your e-mail, pops up a neat little screen (tall and narrow) of some good looking fireworks, and the message is received from someone you may know, so it looks neat and nice and all that. Problem is, the person never sent you the message - they're system was infected and probably right when they hit the send button to you their e-mail 'performed an illegal operation' and shut down. In that time your message was erased and replaced with this 'worm'. The receipient never got your intended letter, sender thinks his e-mail client crashed, and some confusion is usually the result. This wont erase your drive or anything, but it does infect the Winsock32 program and will slow down your internet connections as much as half or more. System gets strange. Norton will detect it and give you instructions how to remove it, as it is not able to remove it because the file is in use by windows. Been there - done that. -Jim
