Rande-

You are exactly right about MP3. I am a college student and have downloaded a number of MP3's and made my own CD's. College kids are broke most of the time anyway and they look at this as a great deal. Not only that but major universities have T1 connections that are so fast it only takes 5 minutes to download a song. I think as long as Mp3 is around people will use it and I don't think it will be stopped. Record companies might just have to make a deal with people like Diamond, because I think that soon all major companies will make Mp3 encoders for the car, home, and etc. The reason they will make these players is because there are still free & legal Mp3's out there that people can download. Big companies like Sony, and Kenwood will eventually make these players and the music industry will be in trouble unless they compromise. Not everyone will boycott Sony and larger companies.
Just my opinion.
