Norma, so sad to hear about your little niece's experience of last week that made her cry from fear and hurt feelings - Again, it comes too close to home for us on Techride. My teenager has been so upset but not showing it the same way as if she were littler; they all need special attention, treats, love, and calming down from this in ways appropriate to their age. We spent time this weekend clothes shopping and visiting family, and also she spent time with her bestfriends, so this morning she felt better. Such events were (said "were" in respect and hope) so widespread these weeks as to be unforgettable for young and old as a tragic national experience - same as we all remember what we were doing wearing and thinking when we heard the news about Pres. Kennedy, and over the course of that bleak November weekend. Howard Stern's unfortunate words were also a part of it....this a.m. listened to it from 8:30 til 10 and after listening for an hour heard one set of ads; half of which were for network shows and movies filling up time! Many fewer sponsors than previous!!
I don't know if these next are new sponsors because I've never been able to listen to the show all the time, but New Ads this a.m. were...
Omni Point (1-800 BUY OMNI); Boars Head Cold Cuts, AMAZON amazon.com -(I sold my shares last week, had been planning to jump back on but won't if they keep spending Co. money on Hate Talk)
1-800 TV-RADIO Connecticut School of Broadcasting; artistdirect.com (musical merchandise site)....the only advertiser from last week I heard in the segment was Mitsubishi...working on more emails (better for me than phone calls probably because "Let's Get Real" my voice is a womans voice)..& soon will make a huge effort to listen to the whole program start to finish; not an easy thing to do because of time, interruptions, and also because it's sickening; this morning was lesbian bimbos dating games and another belch surprise, ugh...this is what Howard Stern's fans refer to as "the leading social commentary of our time".
Anyway, Norma, hope your family recovers equilibrium quickly; we're working on it too.
Best to you and yours,
Joan

Norma, I'm sorry your family is going through this, and yes, a 10-year -old shouldn't have to go through such a thing.

This is an example of what I was saying in my previous message. Some scumbag on an Internet chat room says something like that, and next thing you know you have the bomb squad, FBI, and Lord knows who else decending upon an elementary school scaring the heck out of the kids. And I'll bet the press was there fanning the flames.

I hope your niece was comforted by your family, and she will be able to get back to some normalcy soon.

Take care,
-Joe
