tst,
<<You lost me, are you selling or buying Rambus?>>

neither, i am transferring my present rmbs shares from a margin account to a cash account. in a margin account the broker can use your shares for a short seller. if you convert to a cash account, they have to ask the short to cover or go somewhere else and get shares. if shares are not available to short the shorts will be required to cover(buy). this will also reduce (eliminate) further short selling which may be the cause of the current price decline.
if you only have one account, i believe you can change it to a cash account with a phone call to your broker...no paperwork required.
