<< That means that the customer comes to expect delivery of machines where they are expected, when they are expected and pre-loaded with the customer's software. Those "virtual integration" benefits save the customer considerable amounts of time and money and thus drive the total cost of ownership way down for corporate customers. >>

Chuzz: You have hit on some key points. Most growth companies with more than a few hundred employees are raising their expectations and DELL is helping to set new standards of performance. Companies really like pre-configured machines to be shipped to the right place at the right time. That is why Iowa's Norwest Mortgage Group recently selected DELL for a customized purchase of over 8000 laptop computers. They had very specific requirements for their national organization. Of course DELL will deliver for them. The new parent company, Wells Fargo, may provide a great new source of business (for DELL) as they seek to cut costs, standardize purchasing and become more efficient.

Best Regards,

Scott

yeah I agree with you. That was then when Ibm prices was ridiculously high even in the Comp U.S.A. sales paper. I would not even look at the Ibm name if the prices IBM wanted for its desktop I say about Six months or so ago was more then $100.00 more then the others and IBM was selling desktop that was more then $100.00 compared to the other computer Comp U.S.A. was selling. Now if Comp usa sales paper came today I would notice the Ibm name now because the prices are in line with other computer. Yes I agree Dell's makes better computer then Ibm but I am talking about first time buyers who might option for better price and a well known name like ibm. Don't forget Dell do not sell computer at any retailer. And computer are no longer cheaper to buy in the magazine or web site. The onsale or bid web site is even a bigger joke.

I just started to work for a new client, Teleglobe Canada. I work at their office and they provided me a desk and a computer. The place is full of HP machines but I got a Dell. So, I asked my boss if they changed their computers provider. He said yes and showed me is new Latitude portable. So, I asked him if he likes his machine and why they have changed. He said that the notebook is great but that the main reason to go with DELL is pricing. He wouldn't care to tell me how much they saved over HP, but he told me that it was a lot cheaper with Dell.

I'm seeing a lot of corporations going from HP to DELL in Montreal. I just hope the trend is global.

Corporate buyers are followers. They buy quality from big names (IBM, HP, DELL, ...). Dell is not well known up here, but is getting there.

Another win for DELL ...
