Just keeping track of the competition. Here is a quote from a post on the SI Valence Board. VLNC (LiPoly batteries) and Delphi had a working arrangement until recently, and there has been considerable speculation about why Delphi decided not to continue this relationship. Some said Delphi was unhappy with the tech they got from VLNC, some said they were happy. This statement provides some support for Delphi being happy (because they appear to be still pursuing the development, using VLNC basic tech).

LITHIUM POLYMER
Delphi is also developing lithium polymer battery. This battery can address higher voltage systems with half the mass of current lead-acid batteries for the same power output. Lithium polymer batteries are spill-free and are flexible in size, shape and configuration.
