Not necessarily sun specific - by critical mass in the internet arena I mean that sun is becoming a focal point - which helps when choosing all the bits and pieces when putting together an internet / E-COmmerce system. Just an example I m thinking of is in evaluation software where the choice is often solaris , NT or Linux. If the software companies are developing for Solaris and NT first I would say this gives microsoft and sun an edge. My experience of unix is that what runs on one flavour of unix does not necessarily run on another flavour - although I stand to be corrected on that point.
