SpotMarket.com Expands E-Commerce Solutions
EL MONTE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 3, 1999--Marshall Industries (NYSE:MI - news), recognized as a leader in e-commerce solutions in the electronic components distribution business, is introducing a new online enterprise called SpotMarket.com(TM).
SpotMarket.com will provide three major services to the purchasers of electronic components, computer products and production tools and equipment over a secure Web site.
These services include an online auction function that allows customers to negotiate for products (Auction); a discount center for the sale of aggressively priced surplus products (Blowout); and a buyer-specified part and/or price locator capability (Spot It). Marshall's agreement with Lucent covers the United States, Canada and Mexico.
