Just to please you, Daniel, I thought that I would drop a few more names. Let's see: When I was 5, I was on the Howdy Doody show, when Buffalo Bob made a special Washington appearance. When I was 12, I went to a campaign rally in suburban Washington and shook Hubert Humphrey's hand. Somewhere in my teens, I cannot now remember the precise age, I met Pearl Bailey and Louie Belsen, at a performance with the Navy Band. When I was in high- school I went to a performance of "Lorelei", a stage musical based on "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" at the National Theater, and had the privilege of meeting Carol Channing. When I was 18, at a science fiction convention in New York that a friend dragged me to, I met Harlan Ellison and Isaac Asimov. I will save some of my reminiscences for later. I hope that you enjoy making a big deal!
