Anthony, CLCX, I am sure you are familiar with this one. Do you think maybe these guys have put most of their trouble behind them as of late. I remember the whole fiasco. But I just took a long pos in it. Just wondering whether I am being foolish or not. The short interest is pretty huge. I wonder if folks will begin to cover or just short some more. Any advice??

Y2K will make the shakeout a certainty... sometime after summer.

<AMZN>

That story has been replaced in pop culture by the skit from SNL. :)

I think what makes AMZN special is that it is a $25b overpriced POS. The market is full of $2b or $3b overpriced POS net stocks, but the absurdity of AMZN's price is extreme.

I don't think the BIG shakeout is coming as long as the economy is strong (low unemployment, reasonable growth, low inflation, no major wars, Greenspan doesn't bite the big one, Pat Buchanan is not president, etc.)

If the economy changes for the worst, the net stocks will be the first ones to tank. And I think they will tank like people have never seen them tank before. The number of suicides in the US might rival those in Japan when their market tanked.
