For what it's worth, portion email from my broker just now after I alerted her to SEC website just posted earlier. "Lots of folks are getting caught in the pooling of interests thing...going to make it a lot more complicated to use stock as a way to purchase other firms without a taxable event for shareholders....I suspect the entire issue will get to be a political item before it's all over..it really is a tax issue when you get to the bottom of it." She doesn't like BB's (what a surprise), but her take on it made me feel more comfortable. She's a family friend as well, not "just" my broker.
