Larry:

This comment of yours seems kind of unfair: "While this may not be a total contradiction, it is confusing when you are trying to understand Ricks' geological model and exploration method."

I am beginning to understand that Boulay is determined that 'layered deposits' are the target.

He is trying to locate a zinging 'bed' by most reasonable means. This could be good pipes that spawned the layer - so he looks for pipes. It could be faults - where good pipes may accumulate, and the horizontal deposit may have flowed through.

I believe it is self-defeating to cast doubt on our own Indiana Boulay. He does seem to have his sights focused on a specific that does not appear to have been considered much in this play. The specific being the bed, the layer, the horizontal. gsm
