Hello Peter

Not being on site I really could not say what the actual conditions are, but if they are anything like YK, I am sure there is no immediate concern at Munn and even less at Yamba which is much further north.

Having said that, I had heard from some folks that should know, that the ice out in the remote lakes this year was only about 4 feet, about 1.5 to 3 feet less than what should typically be found after a tough winter which we did not have. So while the ice pack has not moved away from shore yet, nor started to candle, the melt will probably start from a thinner platform so the eventual “ice-out” date is very much a toss up.

The weather north of GSL is rotten again today. Roughly 0C here with light flurries and no slush and while a number of smaller rivers are open, that doesn't really affect the lakes until there is more run off.

Speaking of run off, while I can't speak for what will happen from north of YK when and if things warm up, there really isn't very much around here this spring despite all the snow we had. The long cool spring has effectively caused the snow pack to evaporate in the dry air as much as melt. GSL is about two feet lower in front of my house than it was last year at this time so a lot of water is exiting down the Mackenzie but not enough is replacing it from the Slave, Talston, Hay, Lochkart, etc.

If the same limited run off conditions exist at Munn and Yamba, ice rot may be slowed unless the rains and/or heat comes with a vengeance in a week or two.

On a separate matter, I don't know what the market depth is on the rest of the Yamba players including SUF, but if its anything like TQY, any good new whatsoever is going to blow all these babies off the launching pad.

Regards
