Better not listen to much that Boller guy who responded to you over on Mohan's thread ever says. Brown bear do not bat salmon out of the stream onto shore. I've never seen it happen nor have I ever heard of someone who has. The standard method is to use their paw and pin 'em to the stream bed then grab 'em with their mouth (they have paws that are almost as big as snowshoes). They will also try the freestyle underwater mouth bite alone, but that usually doesn't work too well. And if they are being stuffed gluttons and not eating the whole salmon their favorite part is the skin, not the roe and guts. -g- He has heard too many stories that sound logical but ain't true.
