For what it's worth from CNBC:

AOL out of the bid for UMG. Cited issues for cash and stock for their reasons to withdraw. Strong indications that msft remains in talks with Comcast to work a deal.

So why don't they upgrade their price targets? I think they are the ones who come out looking like fools here...anyone can see AOL is heading up, not down...I just dont understand brokerage firms.

Assuming we've lost MediaOne, what's next ??
AT&T now hold 60% of the household cable connections.
I think AOL has to realize that it never will be a cable company
and that it's strength is in being a content provider.
AT&T is not interested in providing content. They just want
to rent out the pipes.
Looks like we'll just have to pay AT&T some hefty fees
if we want to appear on their services.
What other options are there ???
Your thoughts.....???
