Hi, Pete!

>Last week, or maybe two weeks ago, I did manage to short a decent chunk at 21 1/2, and at the same moment put in a buy at 18 which executed the next day! Hence my current sell back at 21 1/2... I'd love to turn that corner a few more times.

Ah, I missed a similar buyback for my two lots at 20 1/4 and 20 1/2 simply because I put a day order in instead of GTC. Got a buyback on the 21 1/2 (I got one on the day after the CC) - I do a little tighter ranges than you do.

Regarding T N'P someone on the CC estimated around 8$ for the one with the microphone, 6$ for the one without, and they seemed to acknowledge that.

>Looks like they have to move a TON of units to make much of a dent, in any case.
That was a point of mine a few months ago. And now that they are moving to the OEM channel primarily, they would have to sell even more.

>Anyway, if the 4% of revenue represents total sell-in, even if none sell through, the returns won't kill the next quarter...
True, however keep in mind that the 13% of the margin that they claimed it gave them makes their overall margins down *another* percent or two. That puts them in trouble in the long term - once they run out of one time revenue gains with this line, they will be worse off than ever. Moving to OEM isn't going to help margins at all.
Hausmann suggested that retail isn't important anymore - sorry bud, it is way more important still to be in Walmart, rather than on the WWW, for consumer software. www.wecantalk.com ain't Amazon.

As far as stuffing goes, I really doubt they could do any stuffing with a new product. It's the reduced margins on the old line that is interesting.

>One other thing, people are talking about OEM deals where TMSR stuff shows up on every CD, etc. Do they have a software-only product that I'm unaware of?? What's the point of getting TalkNPlay software without the headset??

Yes - they are selling a version without the headset to OEMs apparently - one of the gentlemen on the CC grappled with that question of the headset and really didn't get a answer. What's the point? To get any sort of revenue from the product - the practicality of their long term "plan" doesn't seem to matter. They spent more time pretending the small distinctions between their product and the other *free* products on the marketplace would make any difference. Even Intel has a free Internet Video Phone, BTW.

Anyway, congratulations on the recent addition to your family - I guess you could call that another long term gain! :-)
