Dan,

That's a classic and proven trader strategy that's been around a long, long time. In fact, most professional traders I know turn profits on well under 50% of their trades.

Not everybody is a scalper although you couldn't tell that from reading the headlines these days.

I just wanted to note that I lose more than half the time, yet I'm profiting (or at least have been for the past year). I try to keep the losers down to flat (just a commission loss) or 1/16th point. It takes only a few 1/2 point gainers to overcome the more numerous losses. Caveat: This is second by second scalping, not day-long position trading.
