Just found out that First Call recommended BUYING KLIC, not shorting it. Guess I should read these things for myself in the future. At any rate, still bewildered at the lack of performance.

You should listen to the earnings CC, Scott Klicke is a great
guy and tells it like it is, both good and bad. There was
plenty of bad this time. It would be hard to believe that
this won't underperform the other semi-equips for the next
12 months. Long term will be either boom or bust.
