Welcome to SI, Post Patrol. If your first contribution on this thread is in any way indicative of the kind of input you intend on providing in the future, then I sincerely hope that you spend more time lurking than posting. If it's just a one-time poke -- and who am I to judge? -- then come on in and join the party. Best of luck with your investments in the patch, be they long or short.

Welcome aboard Post Patrol.

Since this is your first post, maybe you don't know that when you join SI you agree not to get into name calling. I respectfully ask you to please figure out a more mature way to voice your displeasure about Slider's calls.

This thread has seen enough name calling lately! Please inform us of your opinions on this sector and stick to the "sour grapes" analysis! You can leave the fool comments for Private Messages. I for one would be very grateful and I'm pretty sure most would agree with me,for a change, on this one<g>.

Good luck in your investments,
Michael

Hey Post Patrol People. I have a lot of problems with a number of Slider's recent posts. Those problems don't include his giving his opinions on when to buy and sell, including his take on a variety of possible scenarios. It takes guts to go out on a limb.

Some I have agreed with, some I have not, but when he stays with the subject matter at hand, he makes some thought provoking, sometimes compelling arguments.

What this thread doesn't need is a bunch of rah, rah oil can't go down crapola. It needs diverse, well thought out commentary and study.

Have you guys done any of that? If so, welcome...

Slider did a bunch of it.

I'm not defending his attacks on BigBull or the pleasure he so obviously derived , I think that was abhorrent...but he did and I hope will continue to add his insights here as I hope BigBull will as well.

The jury is out on you guys...

Stan

Post Patrol -Read 'em & Weep ! Nothing but E&P Net Baby !

Here are the facts - the cold, hard stark reality - no emotion; just the numbers. My E&P ''rotation'' versus the OSX. This chart over-exaggerates the OSX's gains - as I can not use just a chart from April 16th - the superiority of the E&P gains are even larger, from the actual point of April 16th

techstocks.com.

Lets also compare not just the OSX, but 3 of the Oilpatch fav's here as well; FGI GIFI UFAB; to the actual portfolio holdings of mine most heavilly weighted :

techstocks.com.

From the time of my selling/profit taking:

OSX ................... + 24%
fgi ufab gifi - fav's.. + 33% avg.
Slider/E&P's ......... + 72% avg

hmmm; 3 times the OSX gains - 2 1/2 times the fav gains; PLUS - I locked in 90% of the OSX's gains; and let's rub a little salt in the wounds as well; add the profits from the individual trades posted in FEN HMAR BEXP MEXP CLB HLX ...etc. - these were the big blowoff moves - triple in FEN, 50% - doubles in the others...

OSX gains ? - I have them in the bank, not once, not twice, not three, times but many, times - over & over & over....

Bottomline - totally discounting all of my individual short term trades - OSX needs to go to 200 (2 1/2 times just) to equal my E&P micro cap gains here... I have quitely accumulated another stock that is a near term 50% to a doubler here... still cheap; I mentioned it in over 15 posts since last year. I own a decent percentage of the actual float. -yes, of course it is a small, small float... but I am done accumulating.

here is a Freebie - PGEI - still a buy here. Some of us Mr. "fingerfelt'' began accumulating well, before $2 by the way (VBG) ! - also you didn't get all the 5000 shares at the close - I've bought on the avg. 2K + daily on retracements; for weeks here; finished building my position here at $2 1/16ths and will hold - and I have a 2K fill ticket at the last trade of $2 1/16ths today - so you couldn't have got the 5K ? - hmmmmm.

Lets hear why you Johnny-Come Lately/Newbies like PGEI - give me some fundamental, technical - whatever analysis here ? ... lets see if ''anyone'' even knows the real PGEI story here - just for kicks...

....with talent on loan from God - and ala~ Rush - with 1 arm tied behind my back - smokin the keyboard with one hand and whipping the pants Mo-Mo Buy & Hold boys with the other.... !

HOOOO HAHHHHH ~

$5K says you don't even know - ''why'' you should own PGEI.

**** trying to ink the patch down ? hmmm, lets not get too overly emotional here (VBG). Unlike SargeK, or BabyBull - I ''know'' I couldn't move any stock here a 1/16th on my best day (other than PGEI with only a 800K float at $2 per share) - $30K a day can move that stock...

The emotional amateurs that think that ANY post here, makes diddly squat difference in any stock - is beyond out of touch with reality - they are totally clueless - period !

Institutions move these stocks - not individual investors. The Oilpatch isn't the Internet - we have well entrenched Institutional ownership - we are primarially NYSE & AMEX not NASDQ etc... anyone who belives this Pump & Dump, or even the concept of ''inkability'' - instantly labels themselves as a mere AMATEUR - a clown. You are giving Silicon Investor way, way too much credit here... Yahoo included - these boards do NOT and CAN NOT move the 'patch; anyone who believes that BS - is totally an ignorant amateur - period; and we obviously have a few ignorant amateurs here - because the emotion flows and the insults fly - whenever I post that I am taking profits or selling; let alone when anyone mentions going short.... you guys go off - like your personal financial positions are being specifically threatened. - this is one of my greatest pastimes by the way - just jamming my thumb on your blatant ''hot buttons...(VBG) !

I fully explained my ''Darkside'' concept here. I am long - very, very, very long the Energy sector. I just happen to be nearly fully weighted to Natural Gas E&P's and small/micro caps within the E&P's. I will stay long the subsectors, and individual stocks that logically deserve buying and holding; I will also with cold, hard ice-water in my veins - prepare to short the ''emotionally'' supported high flyers here.

I will also ''short'' in a logical and not in an emotional manner. I will never institute a ''cold'' short position here. I will only initiate a short position primarially off the open on a blood red day - in selected stocks that open down with substantial bid:ask imbalances. I will merely ride downside momenteum in shorting here.

As I said; I will merely keep pushing on the ''door'' - if there is resistance - I retreat; if it flies open - I ''Bum Rush'' in along with all the hedge fund traders and ride the mo-mo down- just like the 2 - 5% back to back down days of late. Picking up the middle, or initial 1/2 to 2/3rds of a retracement is all I'm looking for here. - easy money - period.

Actually; I am more Bullish longterm than virtually anyone here; allways have been. Only I know - ''why'' I am long and I know why I am long - ''where'' I am long.... no cut & paste, headlines, mo-mo, dog chasing his tail - follow the lemmings longs for me.I know what I want to own and I know - WHY I want to own it. I also do not hesitate to take profits on any stock at any time - period. I am a stock ''renter'' - aint interested in any longterm relationships here (VBG) - one night stands are fine as well ...hell, 15 minutes will do on occassion (VBG) !

I will trade the market - not my emotions, or my personal desires for the market. Nothing more, nothing less... Is it that many of you are ''intellectually incapable'' of grasping the concept of being long overall, but yet being short some individual stocks simultaneously; or just emotionally unable to execute a strategy of this type ?

Why can't someone be long AOL and short AMZN ? - clueless,,,

Post Patrol:

I will slowly, confidently walk with ice water in my veins into the Valley of the Shadow of Death; there I will stand silently and with cold, stark precision, take nearly all of your money (VBG) and you can't stop me , or beat me - because you can not control your emotions ! You are incapable of operating logically - as nearlly 75% of all investors are.

You are emotionally attached to your stocks. You fail to exercise the confidence of buying the true bottoms, you get shaken out on most retracements (often on margin calls), you fail to take profits - locking in ''real'' gains and you totally miss the forest for the trees - read: E&P's BABY....... nothing but E&P-Natural GAS NET here BABY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in the bank - burned another $100 on your post though (VBG)

...and remember, if you want a friend - buy a dog (PS Big Dogs are allways good dogs ) VBG.... also, learn that teasing a bad dog is one thing, poking a stick in his cage is another - but, when you put your fingers in the fence - be prepared to get bit !

Larry Kudlow says Hoooo Hahhhhh ~ - what a coincidence, he opens up the day on CNBC today.... The Greatest Living Economist.

Remember; The Saudi's - it's ---- ''The Incentive to Cheat - Stupid'' !

...for the simpleton's - yeah, yeah, yeah.... blah, blah, blah - ''we'' know that the initial OPEC compliance is fine - so keep the OSX running - because the milisecond it stumbles (when Venezeulan cheating is confirmed) - I'm on it like a SuperFly on Big Bull-$h^!

Hooooo Hahhhh ~

Bad as I want to be

$lider

...anyone seen a bovine limping around here, walking kind of funny - missing something ?
