I would rather own AOL than T and thats what I have done....There is no honor is you being wrong in your assesment of AOL. I ask you for one argument that supports why AOL, which has defined the growth of the internet, will not continue to do so.

AOL ===> Got a rude awakening...

T ==> Still trying to catch AOL.

T is millions of subscribers behind AOL, as is every other ISP.

The real truth is that Media One, nor any right minded company would accept AOL stock as a valued currency.....

You tell that to Sprint and their millions when they cash out. Stock is what makes the world go round, and is the currency of the street and all these rosy mergers that headline the business section every week. Don't confuse your own opinion with reality.

All this talk about broadband will come to pass. Broadband will be slow coming, cable or xDSL. While the digerati (that's us folks) spouts "broadband! broadband!" most consumers scratch their heads. There is a reason why AOL has 17+ million subscribers, and ATHM +RoadRunner+every other "broadband" provider doesn't.

First it was CompuServe/Prodigy, then Microsoft, then it was busy signals, and now BROADBAND is the flavor of the month. Still long after all these years, enjoying all my "funny money"

S.

p.s. - if I had listened to all the bears over all the years I've been in AOL, I wouldn't be sitting on a gain of over 1200% 8^)

If you owned a couple million shares of UMG would you rather have ATT stock or AOL overpriced funny money...

Ahhh... excuse me genius; your question might be better asked over at the T thread.

I've book marked this chart(40 mth) just for folks like you.

By the looks of this chart, I'd say any reasonable UMB holder knows where his money might belong, should such a choice have to be made.

Let's look at the 30 month. Ahhh...looks even better.

Facts to consider....

I am not quite sure if you understood my message.

I replied to your ps 2: A trade that does not work is called an investment.

My reply: I guess you have lots of investments?

Your answer: A few. So, are you acknowledging that you have quite a few trades that didn't work? gg.

Anyhow, I guess you heard in the meantime that AOL DID back out of the deal and was NOT asked to leave the party?

Not that it helped the stock today. But I still consider AOL an investment that works. Maybe a trade will not always work.
