Bob, Enjoy your analyses of the generations. I came of age in the late 50's, still a strong product of the work ethic, too early for Clinton's love and peace generation, and not really affected that much by the "Beats". Also, before the "baby boomers".

G. W.

P. S. Eminently reasonable and conciliatory response to Lorrie.

Funny post Bob, poor passionless generation. :-)

Hey, did you see that new channel last night? NBC (New Bible Channel)

It was hilarious seeing a bunch of humanists describing the story of the Ark. :-)

I could only stomach about 30 minutes of it.

Michael

My experience is somewhat different-what a surprise!

I remember the Sixties pretty well...the music, the assassinations, the bodybags and TV dinners...the Attica prison riots, moon-landing, the deaths of Janis, Jim and Jimmy, I was singing Beatles songs with my 20 year old Mother in '64 or '65...She would do the "she loves you", and I would do the "yea, yea, yea" part...oh, the innocence lost .
As a "society", we were no longer able to pretend that everything was "going to be OK". We knew better.

-I consider the children of 1963 to be uniquely positioned between the "boomers" and the GenX's...

I love that.

"Gen X", "Less than Zero", sandwiched between the Boom and the neo- Boom, ironic slackers who have no sense of identity....In my experience, just guys who feel as if they missed out on the Sixties, when youth culture was taken Seriously:-)...My sons generation thinks that hippies were stupid...They are right, if a little bit too harsh...
