M Stanley upbeat about ORCL's next year prospects, cautious about Q4:
-Q4 pipeline looks good but close rate is less certain
-Database options selling well, application servers doing well
-Apps pipeline growing faster than competition, up 30%
-Year 2000 shaping up as a breakout year for ORCL; just need to get through 1999
-ORCL is is a great position to have a super year 2000. It has revamped all major products around an Internet theme and has emerged as a pioneer of Interprise computing. As customers move beyond Y2K, they will look to invest in front office, ecommerce, data warehousing and business intelligence, all markets in which ORCL is solidly positioned.
-ORCL is capable of calendar year 2001 earnings in the $1.40 range.
