Gone, but not out

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 4, 1999--Cirrus Logic Inc.
(Nasdaq:CRUS - news) today confirmed that Michael L. Hackworth has
joined DTI, an Internet-based software developer, as president/CEO, and
will continue as an outside Director and non-executive chairman of Cirrus Logic's Board of Directors.

Hackworth's decision to join DTI follows Cirrus Logic's recent appointment of David D. French to president/CEO,
and completes a succession plan that was initiated with Cirrus Logic's board of directors over a year ago. Since
French came to Cirrus Logic last June, he has driven the implementation of Cirrus Logic's new business model, first
as chief operating officer, and more recently as chief executive officer. Under his leadership, the company has
sharpened its focus on profitable core businesses and positioned itself to compete more effectively in markets
served by its precision linear and advanced mixed-signal technologies.

''We want to thank Mike for his 15 years of leadership in taking Cirrus Logic from start-up to becoming a major
supplier of advanced integrated circuits,'' said French. ''As Cirrus Logic's new business model moves into the 21st
century, it's reassuring to know that we can tap into Mike's experience as he continues as chairman of our board.''
