Hitesh... where did you get this data? I can't believe that Cisco said that voice and data convergence is not a high priority. Did they say this with reference to convergence on ATM or as a general statment. Please post your source.

hitesh,

ATM is where the $$$ is today in the Backbone. Cisco wants to downplay the ATM view because they are lacking products in this area. Not only does Cisco want to downplay circuit switch, they want to say IP Data is the only data way to go. This story is really getting old from Cisco and I'm starting to think that Nortel is the player Lucent has to watch. Nortel has wireless, optical, circuit switching, etc. In the carrier space it looks like Cisco will be 3rd in North America. Ken, hitesh, Mr. Fun, what do you have to say about that? Cisco being 3rd sound right? The only thing holding them up is their routers and the competition is getting ready for an assault in that market. I fully expect Cisco's margins and market share in routers to drop in the coming year. ... until later.
