Are you looking for sympathy for not being able to pump your PoS in a vacuum?

As people have posted, there are gullible people in this world.

But surely not on the web!

Passing yourself off as a law enforcement officer is definitely illegal. But the term "investigator" is broad enough to encompass private and public, and virtually anybody.

I could probably register a company as "New Jersey Investigators" (depends on their state law, but probably not illegal) and say perfectly legally that "I'm an investigator with New Jersey Investigations."

By claiming to be an investigator, is it possible that a person could be trying to "trade" (crebility speaking, of course) off his position of "authority". That really would be a dastardly deed, wouldn't?

Most of us here are precisely who and what we say we are. Who are YOU?

Or do you consider that an "unfair" question, snicker?
