Fellow BETTsters, Here's an interesting little piece of "insider information" (..that hopefully won't get me bashed by the SEC, yuk yuk yuk..)..!! Since "..da Boss.." is on the road so much, we're going to tie a "..bell.." on him..!! We're in the process of acquiring Tom a shiny new Toshiba 4020CDT laptop with oodles of whistles, bells, software and accessories:csd.toshiba.com and...csd.toshiba.com You can ignore the "list prices" shown, I'm doing the specification/acquistion legwork - and, "..I'z gots frenz in da bizness.."! One of the nifty little features is a modem miniport-to-cellphone connection, so he can't even hide from us in the taxicab enroute to the airport..!! Toshiba's have their power-supply/charger built-in; so you don't have to drag around a "brick-on-a-rope" to run it on A.C. It has a top-end lithium-ion battery also, so he won't have any "..I was on the plane.." excuses for delayed PRs, either..!! (I wonder how long it will take him to discover the free, micro-miniature, video-camera accessory?) (tee hee) With Microsoft Office - Professional which includes WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT, SCHEDULE, ACCESS, etc., I think we've probably covered all the possible excuses for not getting one's homework done?!? Ah yes, and we're getting him the nifty-spiffy Targus briefcase-sized "ultra-yuppie" tote bag, with the oh-so-adjustible shoulder strap. Mine has held up real well, and - we got a helluva discount! I have personally been using a Toshiba 420CDT for my personal and engineering work for about three years. They're built like a "..brick house..", tollerate a lot of banging-about. Toshiba's warranty and service is really top notch, also. So, if you don't like it - "..Nyaaaaaaaaaah.."!! I'm in charge, and I do - so there..!! ( How's that for "..pointy haired.."? ) Have a nice day..!! John :-)
