Welcome to the exciting world of GM. Interesting if not profitable. But, we hope that will change.

Yes, I find there is a history of GM selling on news. It never seems to be good enough for expectations and also we did have 6 up days in a row which meant many were ready to take profits today. Also, don't forget the options. I believe they will tend to keep the price down without really great news.

And, then you have to wonder if all the convertible shares are going to sell. Certainly, I would think if they have short positions, they will close them soon by paying off with these shares. Will Microsoft sell shares? Who knows. Maybe it's standard to file when you convert? Anyway, it will worry the market.

Real issue is to get more institutions investing and some analyst coverage. Once that happens, we'll see more stability. The BellSouth deal is again a trial in a farther stage. It's got some new angles with pricing that might worry people, but mass adoption would solve all problems.

I've been thinking that if GM gets the whole $29.95, that is no reseller profit sharing, and they don't have to maintain expensive 800 numbers, the service could be very profitable at $29.95. The telco will boost air time and enhance their product, especially with exclusive Portico use.

This may just be the "SOHO" Portico we see being sold with a beefed up Portico for business coming out of WK and GM direct. Add on services might come such as uses of Intuit and new Kenya based services.

Mostly, GM needs to get lots of subscribers fast. That will solve all ills. I think the exclusive use of the service must be pushng other companies to put up or shut up. We may see another announcement soon, and then you also have to wonder what will BellSouth be if they can fold GTE into their network. Certainly, this company is a strong technology company with a good global position.

Good luck to you and enjoy the fascinating life of General Magic watching!

Regards,

Mark
