Rich, I think you forgot rule #2, "if you wait until a stock breaks out to buy it, you could be buying at double the price". I've invested in small, volatile stocks for a long time, and frequently when they break out on good news there is no chance to get back in, at least not at a bargain price. That's the risk you take when you try to time buying a stock, or the market in general for that matter. But that's a matter of philosophy and whether you belong in the "timer" or "investor" camp. At times I've done both, but my gut feeling is that JMAR is so close to a breakout I wouldn't want to risk trying to get back in at much higher prices.
