Yes Ken, the Soundingboard article is interesting. At times it seems like a jumble of marketing hype from a number of different manufacturers touting various solutions. However, the NN snippet looks encouraging for NNLongs: "According to a March 23 report, "IVPN Service Backbones: The Operations Cost Angle," issued by consulting firm The Yankee Group (www.yankeegroup.com), the ATM-based approach of Newbridge Networks Corp. (www.newbridge.com), Siemens and 3Com Corp. (www.3com.com) is proving the lowest cost method to operate IP VPNs, compared with terabit routers and the Internet Engineering Task Force's (IETF's) (www.ietf.org) emerging multiprotocol label switching (MPLS)."
