. I can't wait to hear Pat use her finest literary skills to defend this bit of managerial ineptitude. And of course I'll be waiting with bated breath to see what Zbig has to say as well. Of course every time Zbig chimes in, I get the impression that he's the kind of guy who would win a Gold medal and then turn around and have it bronzed.

I believe the Bard would be speechless at this point.

Right now nothing adds up. Analysts were estimating between 480 and 490, so by coming in with 460, how can earnings be so low?

I'll listen to the conference call and report back afterwards.

Needing CPR. . .

Pat

"Congratulations to the duo, who, due to their indulgent and tolerant spirit, drove all dissenting voices off this thread. You have every reason to be proud today."

Serge,
Just my $.02, but I'm afraid I have to agree with you. I never felt comfortable posting anything that was remotely critical NN. The reward of having an objective discussion versus personal attacks was simply not worth posting for.

Serge: Thanks.

The info overload was so unbalanced, painful and unreal.

Serge, I'm not sure its fair to say that Pat drove anybody off of this thread. I am certainly one of the doubters who left, because I got tired of the juvenile responses. But, at least for me, it sure wasn't Pat. I know she is/was a big believer in this company and that colored her outlook at times, but, she always argued from facts, as she knew them.

On the other hand, there are quite a few people like Zbig and Ian that just couldn't deal with anyone have a negative opinion about the management of the company and the B.S. that they pass around.

You know, the sad thing about NN is that they really do have some outstanding products and some very good people. What they don't seem to have and can't seem to get is reasonably good business management.

I also think that Canadian investors often have a predisposition towards Canadian companies. This is probably due to a certain amount of understandable nationalism(and consequent emotionalism) and partly due to the structure of Canadian tax law.

I have seen this unwarranted optimism about Canadian company's on so many threads that I have come to expect it. I've also come to expect very defensive reactions to critical statements or analysis. This isn't always the case, but, its more common than you might think.

I don't say this to offend anyone, but, its something to think about...
