Mike, You've got a good point about puts vs shorting. I just started shorting stocks late last fall (not the greatest timing) but if the analysts had'nt destroyed my confidence with all their upgrades & "reiterations", I'd be up handsomely right now in AMAT, NVLS, & a few others. I wonder when the turkey who upgraded AMAT at around 62 will come out with a downgrade-around 40? I've learned the hard way that most of the analysts are either crooks or very gullible & stupid. I enjoyed your Barron's letter about IBM. You managed to call them crooks, but in a tactful way. Did you study libel law?<g> Jim
