There seems to be much concern - maybe even panic - about MSFT's registration to sell its GMGC shares.

No one has come up with this scenario, which seems reasonable to me. MSFT still has to settle with the Department of Justice on its O/S monopoly trial. Many headlines have inferred that MSFT will come up with some major restructuring of its own house. Perhaps even a spinoff of certain subsidiaries. The public just doesn't know what MSFT plans or what it will look like after it settles with the Feds.

In preparation for some internal restructuring, why shouldn't MSFT be registering its GMGC shares. A sale of GMGC may not be to the public market. MSFT may simply be untying its own hands re putting its GMGC holdings in the best place (for MSFT) in its future organizations.
