Jill,
My former broker told me he called E*Trade and complained about the ad's depicting brokers as sleazy. This was the same phone call that he told me the commission on my sale of 10,000 shares was $1,100.00.
I negotiated the fee down to $400. When I told him I sold 20,000 shares of the same stock on E*Trade for less than $20 he kinda got the message that this was my last trade with him.
