This release from 9/98 gives some insight into ITVU's [a partner of VDAT] relationship with AT&T and CERFnet
FOR RELEASE WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 1998

AT&T CERFnet becomes founding member of InterVU Network Coalition

SAN JOSE, Calif. InterVU Inc., (NASDAQ: ITVU), a full service provider of online video and other rich media solutions, today announced that AT&T CERFnet, the facilities-based, Tier 1 Internet Services Provider, has become a charter member of the InterVU Network Coalition. The Network Coalition is a virtual network designed to provide Tier 1 Internet backbone companies with a turnkey outsourcing solution for today's more demanding video and multimedia management and delivery requirements.

Unlike conventional Internet delivery systems that concentrate Web pages and video files of a single Internet site, the InterVU Network Coalition delivers the video portion of the Web presentation from dedicated mirrored servers which have been intelligently distributed over the Internet to avoid bottlenecks and provide visitors with faster video delivery. Download requests are automatically directed to the electronically closest Delivery Center using InterVU's patent-pending technology.

For CERFnet, which specializes in hosting highly interactive,
multimillion-hit sites for multinational corporations, membership in the Coalition means it will be able to offer video and multimedia
capabilities to a broader audience because there are no up-front costs
for expensive server technology and equipment.

"Our decision to become a part of the InterVU Network Coalition is part of our long-range strategy to provide fast, reliable service for
multimillion-hit Webcasts and extremely active websites that want to
take advantage of new streaming video technology," said Pushpendra
Mohta, CERFnet vice president.

"When you become a part of the Network Coalition, InterVU is able to
leverage the bandwidth for both the member and for the Coalition
network," explained Doug Augustine, vice president and manager of the
InterVU Network, InterVU. "For example, as a Tier 1 backbone company,
InterVU utilizes the bandwidth that CERFnet offers in order to become
part of the InterVU Network. CERFnet, in return, is able to use
InterVU's network for any of its multimedia and delivery needs."

Widely recognized for the reliability of its network, CERFnet has been
increasing the bandwidth availability of its OC3c/OC12c backbone by more than 100 percent per year and maintains the sustained usage at about 50 percent. As a result, CERFnet's backbone has a network availability rating of 99.8 percent including unscheduled and scheduled downtime. It has maintained this rating (one of the highest in the industry) for more than five years.
