By the way, Russia and US seem close to a settlement of the Kosovo conflict. See stratfor.com for latest. They've given in to allowing peacekeepers having some NATO countries so long as they're not the ones involved in the bombing and allowing for them to carry weapons, not just light arms. There was a news article on this today re: the Euro-Dollar and that the Euro should recover several percent on the settlement, and also that the ECB (European Central Bank) stated they may buy Euros to bolster it. The same article reported the negative outcome from Japan's PM's visit to the states --- no additional stimulus for Japan's economy --- and that the Yen may fall to 140 to the dollar as a result.

Chris,

>>>> Oil futures touched $19 and according to CBSMKTW, that was the first time since Dec 97. I can't understand the rise in the transports....Well we know it doesn't have to make sense. <<<<

I was wondering that also, maybe its just another attempt at money
rotation. Keep in mind that there are still many DOW THEORISTs and the big boys know that. So keep pushing the transports up as long as it lasts to maintain a sense of bullishness amongst the DOW THEORISTs.

just a guess.
