If it weren't manipulation there wouldn't be a cliff- They can't SPELL it out for you.

A mm function is to provide a "normal" market - a 10% CLIFF drop
isn't a normal market. KABISH?

Fred

I just looked at the trading logs and it basically confirms what I said earlier. At 1:08 the price was 25 1/2 X 25 11/16 which was just brought down from 26 on 3 straight buys for 600 shares.

For a period of 2 minutes there was a flurry of activity that brought the price down to 23 1/8 X 23 1/4. During that period some trades were under the bid and many were double prints. All told the volume was about 17,900.

Most likely it was some stop losses that were taken out plus some weaker hands, but can't say for sure. Normal trading wouldn't result in that kind of activity in a matter of 2 minutes. If you compare that 2 minutes to the rest of the day you will see my point.

In the long run it is nothing to fret over, but when the manipulation is this obvious it gets under my skin.
