U must be kidding, Novell, revolution; don't think so. Novell adds zero value to an MSFT environment. Their still playing with NLM's, NDS, and trying to rediscover themselves. Ohhh James dont get me started when you say such completely unknowledgeable statements. You dont even know what NDS is much less what it can do to improve MSFT's disaster called "Domains"! the fact that NDS can swallow multiple whole NT Domains and remove that nightmare of trust relationships and start letting NT user start taking advantage of a true full function Directory Service - which will not be available from MSFT for years with Active directory. Put your money where you mouth is and explain exactly why NDS will not help those poor NT shops that are currently suffering with Domains and stores of redundant information? Exactly what does MSFT have to offer that fixes its own Domain Woes? Please dont embarrass yourself by saying Active directory. Its entire structure is also based on Domains. It has the same fundamental flaws that Domains currently have. So while MSFT is struggling to put out Active Directory that will allow for a max of 10 million objects (MSFT propaganda on that number) Novell's NDSv8 has already proven 1 BILLION objects and the limit has not yet been reached. While Active directory (when it rears its ugly head some month/year) will primarily focus on MSFT products and solutions, NDS is already several major vendors (IBM, Lucent, Oracle, Sun, Nortel, Cisco, etc. etc.) and countless smaller vendors that have implemented and are selling NDS-enabled solutions. I'll be very blunt James, YOU DONT HAVE A CLUE WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! This is one topic I would love to take challenge you on James! Try to explain your statement, I dare ya! Toy
