Well, I'm a native Texan and have family in La so I know a little about it, I've been there plenty of times. A lot of irish went to La during the potato famine but huge numbers of them died, btw. Anyway the thing about La is the creole culture kind of overshadows everything else so it doesn't feel the same. Otoh why go to Boston when you could go to New Orleans?
