I believe that, technically, you have to sell your long on an uptick to avoid being in violation of SEC rules.

You may be correct. I've only shorted three or four stocks and I've just been happy to get in and out. I've never boxed a short, though I did once box a long (Snapple) for tax reasons (when you could still do that).

PCLN is garbage... and so is their service. They claim that you can "name your price" which you clearly CANNOT. They are false and misleading sacks of crap. In the small print they tell you that you need to place bids that are near the actual price of the tickets,etc---what stinkin good is that? and you don't even get to pick the times you leave!!!! At a $20 billion cap you would think they cured cancer for cryin out loud!
