Hi there, we're just back from 5 days in Temagami. Paddled about 100km in 4 days and hiked in the old-growth pine forest one day. Had a great trip. We're still using our courtesy canoe which I really appreciated on a very windy crossing of Obabika Lake. The canoe is stable and fast, a nice combination.

We had some pretty cool weather but it got a little milder each day and Friday was very nice. No rain. Two days of strong winds. We paddled everything from huge lakes to a teeny-tiny little river (Wakamiki).

We saw 3 black bears. First we saw a mother and cub approaching our destined camp site for the night. Since mama was not at all perturbed by our presence we decided to push on even though it was 4p.m. We reached our campsite at 8p.m. One nice thing about this time of year is the length of the days! Lots of light from 6a.m. til 9p.m. and plenty of twilight beyond that. The bugs were excellent. Black flies just started getting to be a pain on our paddle out on a portage and when we stopped for lunch.

I brought along the camera an hope to scan a few snaps and put them on a page for anyone who is interested, probably in the next week or so. Anyone who wants the link can just send me a private message.

Cheers!
Stuart.
