Won't layoffs be bad for NSM on Wall St?

Analysts have been upgrading because of "strong chip demand" and layoffs would point to the opposite.

Hope that "for sure" is just another rumor.

What would happen if National spun Cyrix off to the shareholders? Or two shares of Cyrix for 1 sh of NSM in a trade. Dupont is going to spin off Conoco with a trade like that.
