Robbracer, I am as emotional as you on this, I been pacing back and forth after reading some of these messages. I think the private site is the way to go, and while I empathsize with the pay considerations, it turns out to be necessary.

You got Yahoo, tons of junk. Solution SI, much less junk, in posting but with hidden achilles heel, everyone on Yahoo can read posts. I have spoken to SI about this months back, they keep this functionality to maintain hits for potential advertising dollars. Its a sound business choice.

So SI for Shorts has been good but at some point, and I personally see it with OMGA, it became riskier. If we are too have the SATHs and ENMDs of the future we need to be more descreet and Private. I think it is necessary.

From his posts I conclude that A@P is aware of the cost considerations, and has taken steps to address, main one is that the seminar cost roll over to the Private site 1 for 1, this is like a 100% gain on investment. Additionally he appears to working on giving all Private site member better access to trades and trading than many currently have. Such as shorting IPOs. I believe those detail will come out in as time goes on.

This expert trader delimma does not make a ton of sense, I would suspect that they need no help, so what good does posting do on SI. And wouldn't more confidencial discussion be better for them.

I consider this thread to be friends and like brothers and sisters. While I would love to keep it the same, I feel that we, and we as a group need to try the site, and not use this thread. By doing this we will see the true potential.

This is a great team of people and I better stop now befor I get all gushy with mushy stuff like you did RobbRacer. I truly hate it when friends fight, but I absolutly love it when a team of friends win all together, see I am getting mushy

I fully agree.

I am also very unhappy with the recent turn of events. I have always thought the talent and idea sharing on this thread was outstanding. I have great respect for both Anthony and Pluvia. I have made money from ideas that both have shared and I have learned from both of them as well as many others.

I also know, that they, just like me, have their flaws. Everybody does. But what is really important is to look at the whole picture. Anthony has went out of his way to help me several times, and I am very much in his debt. I have made a subtantial amount of money in the last 6 months that would not have been possible without Anthony. Pluvia was my first contact with the truly talented short sellers on the internet and has been the source of my most successful short sales. In my view, Pluvia was one of the pioneers of turning the internet into one of the best tools for communicating short ideas.

When Anthony first started talking about a paid web site, I was all for it. I encouraged him to charge even more than $400 to keep the membership down. I saw it as an opportunity to limit membership to a core group who would produce great work, not make shorts too crowded, and still have enough mass to counter some of the daytrader groups. Even $1000 a month would be trivial compared to the money I made on this thread. And if I get good value for my membership fee, I don't care how much money he makes.

I still eagerly await the opening of the paid site. However, now I see a rift forming and realize that it won't be a return to the good old days when this thread wasn't widely followed. So be it. Hopefully it will be profitable in whatevever form it takes. And as for Pluvia, I will still follow his work, and he is always welcome to any research I perform or ideas I generate.

I hate the conflict, but both the combatants are my friends and valued business associates. And both will remain so.

Regards,

Archer

Oh Rob... now you made me feel all warm and gooey inside and you said about a million things that I feel too. I'm sad that the thread has deteriorated to this... so many great traders here.

It reminds me of when I was in college (went to a Catholic college ) and some of the nuns in my class were fighting over who prayed harder. Unfortunately , there are some here who have to prove to Anthony , that they are his only friend... and unless everyone else grovels and pays deference , then it proves that he is right - he is the only friend and everyone else is the infidel. Some reckless accusations have been made to some very good people.. nothing they can't get over I am sure.... question is - do they want to ? with the same thing occurring over and over.

It was a great thread... a great time... sad that some things have to end.

Hraka - thanks for including me in such a fine group of traders... I felt very honored.
